There is a new, second, octopus sculpture! I made the second one and finished it yesterday. So, now the both of them are drying for the next 2 weeks. These are stoneware clay, will be fired twice. First firing is to bisque (1800 F.) then theyll get glaze , then they will get fired a second time, this time to 2250 degrees F. CeramicShak.etsy.com

This is my 200th video! This sculpture is still wet clay, but ive finished most of it, and I will add a little more detail and refine it a bit more before drying. It is a 3 sided jar with a lip, and has a big octopus on the outside in 3D . This will need to dry fully before I can bisque fire it. This is stoneware clay. I will bisque fire it to cone 05, then i will glaze it and refire it to cone...

This is a unique instrument I made from scratch. I call it a chameleon. Its got 3 sets of strings, 1 Bass set, 1 set of lead electric guitar strings at 31" scale (nut to bridge, tuned to Open G), and 1 set of guitar strings at 29" scale nut to bridge (tuned to Open E) This is electric, with 3 brass nuts, and its hollow body from bridge to nuts. From one aquatic lover to (presumably) another, great work on the sculpting. Would you say you slow dry these with plastic over them or let them just air out? Would love to see a video showing ur process of sculpting those and adding them onto your vases
I just dry things naturally, no plastic. But if i used a different clay I would use plastic to slow it down some. But these all are a clay with grog in it to help prevent cracking. So i dont use plastic, if i can avoid it.

cool guitar did you get the pickups out of an electric guitar or did you just buy some?
Thanks. The pickups are 3 used humbuckers . 1 is a Dimarzio (under the bass side) and 2 were salvaged from an Epiphone Les Paul guitar (under the 2 different scale 6 string lead sets). But i had to modify all 3 to fit side by side in a row.
